Groundhog Day

Groundhog Day is celebrated every February 2. If the ground hog see its shadow, there will be six weeks of winter. On a cloudy day, the groundhog does not see its shadow and it is predicted there will be an early spring.

One of the most famous groundhogs is “Punxsutawney Phil” at Gobblers Knob. This is located at Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Every year the celebrity groundhog comes out of hibernation with the Groundhog Club Handlers wearing their Top Hats. It is a big celebration with music and fireworks. This year the prediction is six more weeks of winter!
