Get your King Cakes because there will be three parades this Sunday. In the French Quarter on January 6, Krewe of Joan of Arc will roll out at 6 pm. It is a walking parade to celebrate St Joan of Arc’s birthday and Epiphany. The new comer Krewe – La Société Pas Si Secrète Des Champs-Élysées (The Not So Secret Society of the Elysian Fields), a.k.a, the Société Des Champs Elysé will be celebrating Twelfth Night and the beginning of Carnival season at 7:30 pm in the Quarter. Uptown New Orleans every year on Twelfth Night, the Phunny Phorty Phellows (or PPP) herald the arrival Carnival by loading up on the St. Charles Streetcar line. It will start at 7:00 pm. People line the tracks to cheer, wave and catch the first beads of Mardi Gras.
