Prior to buying Flood Insurance for your home or updating your current policy, review your property’s address on the flood zoning map. Changes were made September 30. 2017, and a preliminary map is posted for your review at www.riskmap6.com. When reviewing the map, you can plug in your address for the zoning.
Speak with someone who is knowledgeable for proper coverage. If you are in a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), regulations will be enforced and flood insurance purchase will be mandatory. FEMA will be holding public meetings next week at different locations so people will be able to understand the information. Public Meetings will be held at the following locations:
